This website is under construction. My goal is nothing short of making this the most useful website on the Internet for people with TMJ. In the meantime, if you are suffering from TMJ here are a few critical tips:

  • There is almost always an underlying structural problem in your jaw which enables TMJ symptoms (specifically TMJ muscle disorder and TMJ joint disorder) to manifest.  The best help for TMJ is found in the dental field, not the medical field.
  • The first type of specialist I would see is a TMJ dentist or neuromuscular dentist, for diagnosis and to begin stabilizing the jaw and jaw muscles.
  • The second type of specialist I would see is a TMJ physical therapist.  They should be very experienced and highly skilled at treating TMJ, and they should come referred by a TMJ dentist or neuromuscular dentist or TMJ orthodontist.  Their goal is to help unlock tight tissue in your jaw muscle, if this is one of the symptoms.
  • The third type of specialist I would see is a TMJ orthodontist.  They will address the structural cause or causes of TMJ in your jaw.  Get multiple opinions because there are a number of different approaches with significantly different results.
  • During TMJ orthodontics, I recommend a TMJ chiropracter who does TMJ cranial therapy and if possible cranio-sacral therapy as well
  • Also, an exellent nutrionist (note that often holistic chiropractors may be nutritionists as well) is absolutely invaluable.  Do not rely just on drugs.
  • Oral surgery is an option in severe cases, but other options should be considered first, especially orthodontics.

Peace and blessings to you my friend!  I’ve been through severe TMJ, and I know what this site needs to be, to best help people, which is why I feel it’s my responsibility to create it.
